Oneafternoon, while touring a factory in New York,he collapsed. Thedoctor who treated him said,"There's nothing wrong with you. But ifyou continue like this, you'll find a new home in our hospital."Semler got the message. He changed the way he worked. In fact, hechanged the ways his employees worked too.

About 31 years later the barrier nowcloses five or six times a year and according to Environment Agencypredictions, by 2050 the barrier will be closed on almost everytide if the problem is not addressed.
There are 26 underground stations, 400 schools, 16 hospitals, anairport and 80 billion worth of property in London’s flood riskarea, so large scale flooding would be disastrous.

Shanghai
Shanghai is the fastest growing city on Earth. It has apopulation of 18 million and is only 4 meters above sea level. Sealevels are predicted to rise by 20 cm within the next century.
An estimated 250,000 people move to Shanghai every year insearch of work, placing extra demands on energy consumption. Chinarelies heavily on coal—fired power stations, but these emissionsincrease temperatures and, in turn, warmer seas increase the riskof typhoons.
41. What problem should be settled now inLondon?
A. How to protect the city’sproperty
B. Where to build its flood defences
C. How to use the Thames Barrier to protect thecity
D. How to improve the function of the old flooddefences
42. Which of the following measures can’tsolve the heat wave disaster in Paris?
A. Putting up new types of buildings with acovering of bamboo.

(In the story above,) Ken enjoyed his job ofrepairing doorbell and he worked more effectively, with his passionbecause he changed his attitude and he thought he was working forhimself, which shows us that putting some play in our work helps usenjoy what we are doing.
Afterreading the passage, I really feel delighted to find Kenenjoys/enjoyed his work. Above all, we should have the sameattitude toward what we are doing because only by thinking that wework for ourselves can we have great passion for our work andstudy.
My father works in a bank.He drives to work and begins his job at eight o'clock everymorning. He speaks to people politely no matter who they are andwhere they come from. When people come to his bank to ask questionsabout their accounts, he serves them heart and soul. He often tellsme that he enjoys his work because by working he has an opportunityto challenge himself. Not only does he work for himself but also heworks for others. From the work he sees his value, of which he isproud.
As aSenior 3 student, I can also enjoy my study because I am so luckyto have chances to study for myself and realize my dream. Toachieve this, I should combine study with pleasure and care moreabout my progress instead of my failures so that I can learnefficiently and creatively.
